Welcome to the Alabama Child Care Consortium web site. The Alabama
Child Care Consortium was coordinated by the UAB Civitan International
Research Center through a contract from the Alabama Department of Human
Resources October 1, 1999 through September 30, 2000.
Who is the Alabama Child Care Consortium web site for?
We hope to have something of interest for everyone who cares about children. We will
have news and information for and about parents, child care providers, child care
advocates and all stakeholders in the quest for quality child care in Alabama. In addition
to simply providing information, this web site is intended to be a vehicle for connecting
concerned groups and individuals. We want to facilitate dialogue about child care issues
as well as encourage collaboration for effective change. We want to know your opinions,
challenges and concerns. We want to know what kind of childcare activities are going on in
your organization, at your center, family daycare home, and region. Talk back to us, we
are listening!
We are extending an open invitation to all interested individuals who want to join this
alliance among the people responsible for the care, education, and well-being of
Alabama’s children.
