Committee Reports History

Ten advisory committees met on Tuesday, December 7, 1999 to begin planning and formulating a five year strategic plan to improve the quality of child care in Alabama. The Advisory Committees are structured around ten key topics currently affecting child care quality in the state. These topics are also included in the quality initiative efforts currently underway to impact child care quality.

The advisory committee summaries are presented as the starting points to stimulate an on-going dialogue among stakeholders and those interested in improving all forms of child care in the state. We want to invite everyone to be a part of this exciting new venture. Membership in the Consortium is open. Please use the "contact us" link to join. Our goal is to include every perspective, to listen to every voice, and to reach out to everyone interested in improving the quality of child care.

There are several options for participation in the Consortium:

  • Become a member of the Alabama Child Care Consortium
  • Participate in the discussion forums available through this web site
  • Email us directly through this web site
  • Participate in one of the advisory committees
  • Inform others about the Consortium and its quality initatives
  • Take an interest in child care programs at a local level
  • Inform your local and state representatives concerning your involvement and interest in the quality of child care in Alabama
