Data Collector Training

To gain a better understanding of the child care needs in Alabama and how the child care consortium is addressing these needs, observations and interviews will be conducted by well-trained data collectors in child care centers and homes. On May 3 and May 4, individuals from throughout the state were trained on how to collect data on a number of child care instruments including the ECERS, ITERS, Family Day Care Rating Scale, Arnett Caregiver Interaction Scale, and the child care version of the HOME. Data collectors received intensive training on data collection procedures, quality control and data integrity issues, as well as observation and interviewing techniques.
