Participants at the meeting at the Ramada Inn at Fort Walton Beach had two full days to try their hand at surfing the Net in addition to working with the London Dysmorphology Database, OMIM on CD-ROM, and the POSSUM video disk system.

The University of Alabama at Birmingham Laboratory of Medical
Genetics teamed up with the medical informatics groups at the
School of Allied Health Professions and the Civitan Research Center
to begin a new SPRANS project funded by the Genetic Disease Branch,
Maternal and Child Health Bureau, DHHS. The goal of this project
is to develop and test a new software and www application that will
provide primary care providers with basic, "What do I do now"
information about genetic diagnosis and genetic services.
